Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, 9 for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls. (1 Peter 1.8)
I love this verse in 1 Peter and I have been thinking about it lately. Faith in Christ brings joy so profound that it is almost inexpressible. Peter is referring to those who did not see the Jesus as he walked the earth in the flesh. Peter did. His readers and we have not. We follow Christ through faith. Faith in Christ also gives us salvation, the reason and the result of faith. I am so amazed by people’s faith sometimes. I have witnessed people walk through incredible things of life with faith that does not waver. I have seen people filled with this glorious joy, not an artificial happiness, but a joy that is from deep within. Deep within a relationship with an unseen God is where the faith and joy are produced. Let’s walk in this amazing joy, as we walk in faith, in our Lord Jesus Christ!
