My Birthday Wish Today

“For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth derives its name, that He would grant you, according to the riches of His glory, to be strengthened with power through His Spirit in the inner man, so that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; and that you, being rooted and grounded in love”

Ephesians 3.14-18a

As I awake this morning to Happy Birthdays from Wendy and the boys and sit and read Ephesians this is my wish for my birthday. It is more than a traditional  birthday with, but a prayer of agreement with the Apostle Paul.  As I read his prayer and desire for the Ephesians I pray it for myself, my wife, and my kids.  I pray it for Compelled Church and the Body of Christ.

I pray we would tap into the underestimated power of Christ who  dwells (lives) in us.  I pray today we would be strengthened in our inner man, by the power of His Spirit. (Ephesians 3.16). This is so important for the life and victory of the follower of Christ.

The inner man (our spirit)

  • Needs redeemed, saved, and cleanse from sin to Christ.
  • Needs cleared daily and filled with Christ’s Spirit.
  • Our inner man is where our thoughts, motives, and attitudes come from.
  • Is the center of our will.
  • If our inner man is not obedient to the way of Christ, we will make terrible choices.
  • When we are filled with Christ our inner man, is not selfish, and we are giving love, because the reality of being established in love is sensed and lived out.

How strong in Christ is your inner man?  My Birthday prayer is that today it will be stronger, and so will mine.

Nate

  1. Pastor Nate, First I would like to say have a very Blessed Birthday. Second: thank you so much for your posting this morning. It was an awesome one to read. I always enjoy reading your posting when I check them to be honest. I do not check my email daily, but today I did check! Your post was a very special one for me to read today. Sorry if my spelling or Grammer is not the best. That’s one thing God did not bless me with that’s what I tell people all the time. Lol. I am not sure if you remember me. I use to sit in the second row on Sunday late service sometimes with my husband Jim when he was there if he was not traveling with his job. Are home church was an still is Oakwood in Saline Mich. Jim traveling alot with his job. Even with the knew job God has Blessed us with. Jim is gone alot more with this new one. Even on weekend. At least the old one we could go to church every Sunday together. But with the new job he took most of the weekends he is gone away from the home. Jim is in France for 5 weeks he just left Sunday after church. God gave him this new job which we don’t understand why for it mean he is working more weekend an gone from home more than before with the old one. Jim just keeps say, ” Vicki I know its hard on us to be away from each other, But God has a plan for us. We just have to trust God, that I did take this new job because there is a reason God wanted me to do this. I just don’t know why.” I then say, “Okay you are my husband, you are the head of our home, I trust you Jim that you are bein let by the Holy Spirit. I trust God that he will take care of us. While we are apart from each other.” Pastor Nate this is the first year Jim will be away out of the country even on my Birthday. My Birthday is tomorrow. I was feeling kind of bad about it. Well to be honest, I was feel really sad about it. But this morning after reading your posting the Holy spirit in me is so lifted up now. Thank you! You made me realize, It’s not about me! It’s about our LORD JESUS. My Holy Spirit is smiling right now from your posting. Thank you again. An Happy Birthday Pastor Nate. Love you in Christ Jesus, Vicki McKinnon. 🙂
